Building Awareness Through Hands-On Learning

High Tech U™ is a K–12 STEM education initiative from the SEMI Foundation designed to make semiconductor and microelectronics learning engaging, accessible, and classroom-ready.

The program helps students explore technology through hands-on activities while giving educators tools and resources that connect STEM instruction to real-world innovation and careers.

Powered by support from SEMI member companies, High Tech U™ helps expand awareness of the semiconductor industry and inspire the future workforce.

Tools That Bring Semiconductor Learning to Life

At the core of High Tech U™ are interactive STEM kits designed to help students experience technology through hands-on exploration and problem-solving. The kits introduce students to concepts such as coding, circuits, sensors, electronics, and hardware interaction through engaging activities that make advanced technology approachable and fun.

Designed for classroom use, the program allows schools and educators to deliver semiconductor-connected STEM learning without requiring specialized equipment or extensive preparation.

Supporting Educators in the Classroom

High Tech U™ also provides professional development opportunities designed to help educators confidently integrate semiconductor and microelectronics concepts into STEM instruction.

Teachers receive classroom-ready resources, hands-on training, and practical learning tools that align with existing STEM education while helping connect students to real-world applications and career pathways.

The program is designed to support educators regardless of prior semiconductor or engineering experience.

Strengthening Early STEM Awareness

The semiconductor industry is projected to require millions of workers globally in the coming years, making early STEM engagement more important than ever.

High Tech U™ helps students better understand how technology works, why semiconductors matter, and how STEM skills connect to future opportunities across engineering, manufacturing, software, research, and advanced technology industries.

By introducing these concepts early, the program helps strengthen awareness, curiosity, and long-term workforce interest.
